Preview & Tips On Selected GAA Club Championship Games This Weekend
Munster SHC Semi-Final ~ Ballygunner v SixmilebridgeWaterford champions Ballygunner overcame Thurles Sarsfields last week in the quarter-finals stage. It was expected to be a tight game and sure enough, it delivered on that count. But anyone who was in attendance remarked on how good the game was and they had left entertained after seeing some fine skill and heart. Ballygunner will take massive heart from this result as Thurles had come into the game as favourites having performed so well in their county final.
Sixmilebridge needed a replay to get over the line in their county final against Clooney-Quin but their forward-line can be a potent one as in the second encounter, all six of their forwards had registered a score from play after 42 minutes, a mere 1-9 in total! This has the look of another tight encounter but after Ballygunner's morale boosting win over Sarsfields, you really have to side with the momentum they've gathered from that. With the likes of Pauric Mahony, Stephen O'Keefe, Barry Coughlan & Philip Mahony amongst the ranks, they have a solid backbone to their team.
RECOMMENDED TIPS - BALLYGUNNER TO WIN @ 1/2 / WINNING MARGIN 1-3 POINTS @ 16/5
Munster SHC Semi-Final ~ Na Piarsaigh v BlackrockLimerick kingpins Na Piarsaigh will be without star player Shane Dowling but are still well fancied to get the better of Cork's Blackrock. They have a host of other big performers who can get the 2016 All-Ireland champions over the line.
Blackrock lost their county-final to East Cork divisional side Imokilly. You can make the argument that they knew they would be Cork's representative in Munster regardless of that result but were still beaten by 6 points that day. It'll take a big improvement to overcome a now well established Na Piarsaigh.
RECOMMENDED TIPS - NA PIARSAIGH TO SCORE THE FIRST GOAL @ 4/6 / ADRIAN BREEN TO SCORE A GOAL ANYTIME @ 2/1
Leinster SHC Quarter-Final ~ Cuala v DicksboroCuala won their third Dublin title in a row by beating Kilmacud while Dicksboro got the better of their city rivals James Stephens in an exhilarating contest with no fewer than eight goals scored. Cuala of course are the All-Ireland champions and are set up to defend their title with their meticulous setup.
Dicksboro's firepower is there for all to see so the best approach for this game from a betting point of view maybe to go with goalscorers with Bill Sheehan looking of particular interest after he bagged 1-3 in the county final. Cuala are a different prospect but Dicksboro look capable of doing damage!
RECOMMENDED TIPS - DICKSBORO'S BILL SHEEHAN TO SCORE A GOAL ANYTIME @ 12/5
