Derry champions Slaughtneil came out on top in a thrilling preliminary-round game against Kilcoo in Newry a couple of weeks ago winning by 2 points. It could've been a different story had Patsy Bradley not saved a goal-scoring opportunity by pushing the last shot of the game onto the bar. Slaughtneil had 13 players on the hurling panel last weekend in the county final so it's been another hectic schedule for them, just as it was last year when they went on those memorable journeys in both codes.
Slaughtneil v Omagh St Endas - Ulster Senior Football Championship Quarter-Final
Omagh won a low-scoring contest two weeks ago to win their ninth Ulster title. They beat Errigal Ciaran by two points with three points each coming from Connor O'Donnell, Conan Grugan & Ronan O'Neill. They'll have to be a little bit more prolific if they are to advance to the semi-final you feel. It ought to be a tight affair for long periods but if last year's All-Ireland club finalists use their experience and composure, they can come out on top here. The lack of scoring power the last day for Omagh is a concern for them and they may just come up short here in the end.

Cuala v Kilmacud Crokes - Dublin Senior Hurling Championship FinalAll-Ireland champions Cuala take on Kilmacud in a repeat of last year's county final where there was a goal separating the teams at the final whistle. Cuala had a comprehensive win over St Vincents to reach the final while Crokes overcame Lucan Sarsfields in a scrappy affair. They led by 4 points at half-time but were pegged back early in the second-half and it took a rather soft goal from their best player, Ross O'Carroll to get them over the line.

Ballygunner v Thurles Sarsfields - Munster SHC Quarter-FinalTwo mainstays in their respective counties but have fallen short outside of winning local titles in the past few years with Thurles the more recent winners of the Munster, winning in 2009. Sarsfields were impressive winners of their county final seeing off Borrisoleigh by 16 points. Ballygunner beat city rivals De La Salle with Conor Power bagging a couple of goals for his team to help seal an 8 point victory. A close contest in store but if Thurles Sarsfields perform like they did in the county final, they may be too much to handle for the Waterford.
RECOMMENDED TIPS: THURLES SARSFIELDS TO WIN @ 4/6 / BOTH DEFENCES ARE STRONG AND GOALS MAY BE HARD TO COME BY SO A SMALL PUNT ON NO GOALS @ 10/1
Dickboro v James Stephens - Kilkenny SHC Final
James Stephens comfortably beat a much fancied Ballyhale Shamrocks team to advance to the final. They won by 10 points thanks an utterly dominant second-half display ushered on by Tadgh Dwyer's quick-fire brace of goals. Eoin Larkin scored their other goal and David Walton knocked over 8 points (6 from frees) as their scoring power overwhelmed Ballyhale.
Dicksboro disposed of defending champions O'Loughlin Gaels with Andrew & Martin Gaffney particulalry vital in the scoring stakes as they scored 1-5 between them. They did well to limit the Gaels that day and will be hoping for more of the same against their rivals this Sunday.
