We will have to wait until 8pm for the NAP tonight as we look at the mile and five apprentice handicap on the card. With the emphasis very much on stamina, we need something that will stay.


As I write the 4.00 has gone with BetVictor and the best I see is 3.75 with PaddyPower  NORTHERN SKY won at Sligo last time out, putting in his best performance to date. Today blinkers are placed on and in what looks like it should be a good test of stamina, it should play to the strengths of the selection  ( Danehill Dancer - Moon Flower (Sadler's Wells)). He is probably not going to get any bigger in price today and could go off favourite

Trainers to Note at Ballinrobe


There are a couple of trainers with runners today who should be noted - In the final race on the card at 9pm, Peter Fahey saddles LILLYS EXPRESS who will be available at fancy odds, he has had 4 runners here in the past 3 years and won with two of them, albeit at shorter odds that this one will be tonight

An even better record comes from K J Condon - He has also had 4 runners here in the same time span on the flat and has also got the 2 wins, but also a further place as well, for an LSP of +€22.50, he has one entry today in the Maiden at 6.25 when he introduces us to CREADAN. 



We would advise taking the price of 9/1 with Bet365 as any movement in the market from a positive point of view could be very telling. She is a half-sister to several winners and the Makfi filly will almost certainly be picking up wins. Here is hoping it is on debut and we can collect.
