Captain Cullen has had a varied career on turf and all weather with a total of 8 wins and 11 places from 67 starts. Slightly better strike rate on turf and has done well recently with a win at the Curragh on 7th August followed by a 4th of 16 when last out at Leopardstown on 17th August. Coakley rides this gelding for the first time today but should still manage a place if he gets the right start.

Lockeen Girl has only managed one win and two placings in 13 runs but those placings have been under the training of T Mullins and in this season. Last placing was here at Wexford on 28th July under todays jockey DJ Mullins. Hopefully a repeat or better performance today.

Flower Of May runs midway betting wise in a small field. With an odds on favourite theres only one place up for grabs if all run. This filly has only started twice but has already made her mark with a win last time out at Naas on 26th July under todays jockey Roche. Each way chance today.

Ligeti seems to do better on all weather if past performances are to go by. Did however show promise on turf when 2nd of 12 at Leopardstown on 26th May. Shortall rides this gelding for the first time and will hopefully do better on the past three performances of this one.

Good Marks has started once at the Curragh on 19th August but only managed 11th of 15. This filly comes from good stock and should do better today. Bit of an untested chance but each way anyway.

Betsy Boots has only started twice and went from an 8th of 12 at Galway to a 3rd of 11 at Tramore, both races last month. Last placing was under Hamilton who rides today and if he can keep the same momentum going today should place at a handsome price.

The Jazz Singer has won three of 16 runs after leaving point to point. Last win was here in May and in the two runs since has just missed out in placings. Think this gelding will feature at the finish line. Each way opportunity.

Im An Izz Wizz will starts the outsider in this small field and with an odds on favourite is unlikely to win. With only one place up for grabs I think this gelding has a chance with 2 wins and four places from 14 runs. All these were in chases but still think this one may feature in the last strides of this 3m hurdle.

Balkalin has only placed once in 5 starts back in April last year but has been close to places in all his runs usually just missing out. Loughran rode last time out in Ballinrobe in August when 4th of 11. Should go one better today. Each way chance.

Boston Oscar has failed to win from 11 starts but showed more promise at Leopardstown on 13th July from previous runs. McGarvey has ridden this gelding four times and his best on this one was last time out when 5th of 12 at Ballinrobe. Believe he is slowly progressing and should place today. Each way chance.

Joys Gift has won once and placed twice in 12 starts. Won in August last year at This course but to date has only placed once since at Limerick on 22nd July. Colgan got that place and while not following up well at Cork on the last run out should improve today. Each way chance.

Little Princess has yet to win or place in five starts. Hasn’t done much but had two promising runs in October last year at Gowran Park and last time out at Ballinrobe. Still a distance behind the winners but showed a bit more speed in the race. Bolger rides for the third consecutive time and showed great improvement from the first to second race. Each way chance today.
