In a very tidy Novice hurdle narrow preference is for Minella Beau after putting in a nice display to win his maiden at Galway, this Kings Theatre gelding should appreciate a cut underfoot in comparison to some of his rivals and has a touch of class to him.

Makitorix may not have the most appealing breeding to go over jumps, however the 115000 Willie Mullins forked out for him may suggest he will be a nice type. Heavy ground is a worry, being by Makfi, however the same applies for Big Ben out of Galileo. Makitorix is the horse with scope for most improvement in his career.

Koroleva is the best mare here by some way on the basis of her debut 2nd at Killarney. Many of her rivals have been exposed in lesser races and if the Kings Theatre mare can handle the heavy ground, she will win impressively here

Turbojet has been banging on the door in competitive maiden hurdles, none more so than chasing home Minella Beau at Galway latest. That form alone should be enough to get it over the line here.

Slight preference for the old stager Hidden Cyclone here over Val De Ferbet, purely because of race fitness. He has also been dropped a further 6 lbs over fences since his 2nd to Sandymount Duke at Punchestown. That form is solid and a reproduction of that run here might be enough to get his head in front again.

Lord Erskine is fancied to defy a 13 lb rise for an impressive Roscommon win last time for Pat Smullen. Crucially, he is proven on heavy ground and had Dara Tango behind him the last time. All is set up for him to strike again

Tribal Path is given a big shout in this tight little handicap. Third in this race last year, he now races off a five 5lb lower mark this year. He was only collared close to home at Roscommon by Stenographer, but he now receives weight from that rival here. You feel connections have had this race in mind for him for a while. Proven on heavy ground.

Highway To Heaven is the standout form pick here on the basis of her encouraging debut at Roscommon. She appeared to handle the cut in the ground that day and with further improvement likely she should be able to account for this poor field.

A Toi Phil is strongly fancied to give Gordon Elliott back to back wins in the Kerry National. This 2nd season chaser has a touch of class about him and relishes a cut in the ground. Galway didn't suit him at all when finding the track too sharp, getting himself into trouble, before storming up the hill to finish 4th. He shaped like he needed 3 miles + that day and will get that here. He has also been only put up 2 lbs for that run.Davy Russell has chosen him over the other Gigginstown owned runners here and further boosts confidence.

Brave Poppy can strike here for the in form Charles Byrnes stable, fresh from a double at Kilbeggan on Friday evening. The form of Brave Poppy's 2nd last time has been boosted by the winner, Prickly, following up at Galway. A reproduction of that run here will be more than good enough to win this heat.

Minnie Dahill shaped nicely on her 2nd start at Down Royal when showing a nice turn of foot to see of her challengers. Further improvement can be expected from this 3 yr old and Ruby retaining the ride for his father Ted further boosts confidence.

Epaneema ran a cracker behind Sizzling in a maiden at Tipperary last time and a reproduction of that form here will see her go very close.

The Willie Mullins newcomer will not need to be anything special to win this. Patrick Mullins should know what it takes to beat Peacocks Secret, given he has ridden him before.

Some Drama (Nap) is fancied to go one better for shrewd handler Dermot McLoughlin. His 2nd last time out behind the progressive Swingbridge was an excellent run, considering he pulled 20 lengths clear of the 3rd. He receives weight from many of his main rivals which is helpful and the booking of Robbie Colgan further boosts confidence.

In a competitive beginners chase, progressive mare Penny Jane is given a 2nd chance to get off the mark over fences. She was by far the best of these over hurdles and never got a chance to challenge runaway winner Mullinavat at Tramore, a track that suits front runners. A more prominent ride here should leave her in contention here.

Lucky Pat loved it around Kilbeggan and can strike here off a 13lbs lower mark over hurdles. He ran a stormer in a competitive handicap chase at Killarney and if he can translate that level of form to hurdles, he should go very close

Piper Bomb was only run out of it late on at Roscommon in his first run in a handicap and can provide Adrian McGuinness with a winner at a track he has an extremely good strike rate at.

Felix Mendelssohn may have enough class to win this poor affair on the basis of his close 3rd at Bellewstown, however he shied away from a battle that day and is too short a price. A chance is taken at a massive price on THE RAP QUEEN to sneak a place under Johnny Burke. Denise O'Sheas mare shaped well in Sligo on her 2nd run over hurdles when unseating at the last. She probably would have got 3rd that day and a reproduction of that performance today could see her sneak a place.
